Residents & Community

Hartland Senior Center

The Hartland Senior Center serves as a resource to help the community's older adults stay healthy and independent by offering a wealth of services, resources and assistance targeted at the needs of elderly or aging individuals.

Some of the services the center provides include:

Outreach/Resource Advocate

The Hartland Senior Center is a federally recognized focal point for senior services in the northeast corner of Livingston County. They provide information and assistance to anyone in the community on subjects including: housing, in-home services, home-chores and repairs, legal and medial services, transportation, nutrition, care-giving, health insurances, tax assistance, prescription drug assistance and long-distance care. The Resource Advocate makes home visits to help determine what services might be needed to keep individuals living in their own home and can also assist these clients with accessing those services. The Outreach office is truly the heart of the Hartland Senior Center.

Wellness Program

The health and wellness program brings health professionals to the center to offer workshops and lectures on the health topics. A variety of fitness programs are conducted each year including aerobics, resistance training, stretch, flexibility, yoga and Tai Chi.

Loan Closet

A loan closet of medical equipment is free to the general public. The inventory includes shower chairs, wheelchairs, canes, walkers, crutches and other items.

Caregiver Support

The senior center provides information, referrals and special programs for family members who are providing care for elderly parents and other loved ones.

Transportation

The Hartland Senior Center provides transportation to the elderly and disabled who live within the Hartland Consolidated School District. Priority is given to medical appointments including kidney dialysis and cancer treatments. They also provide transportation to pharmacies, grocery stores, and to the senior center. Door-to-door service is provided and can include assisting clients from their homes to the vehicle and helping to bring in groceries and packages. The bus has a wheel-chair lift and can accommodate two wheel chairs.

Recreation

The senior center provides many opportunities for social activities. Cards, games, special events, parties, and travel are regularly scheduled.
